NOTE: Unless you're already doing this, Numi, THIS DOESN'T COUNT FOR OUR REMIX TRADE! Haha.
If anyone who actually sees this wants to participate, feel free! Rules are simple: Just remix my new song:
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen /401073
I've found that taking someone else's work and working with it can inspire people to create new and amazing original stuff, so this might be a good project for you! And if you want to be able to brag that OpenLight gave you a high ranking in an audio contest, you can try for that, as if anyone knows who "OpenLight" is. But hey, you do!
Anyway, just title the song whatever you want and be sure to note in the description that it's a remix of "Night Run Across the Rooftops." Other than that, there are no rules. Remix it how you please!
Due date will be determined at a later date (around when more people start submitting stuff, so don't hold off!). Post your submissions here or contact me some other way once you finish.
Tentative due date: 3-15-2011

I'm throwing together a CD for a Facebook group I started up which will be comprised of a few songs by me, RetromanOMG, J-Ville, and Bitslip (who doesn't have an NG account). On this CD, RetromanOMG will have one CD-exclusive song, as will I.
Here's my problem: I have two songs to choose from for the CD. One will go on the CD, and the other will either go to Numi for a collab we're going to start up or go straight to NG.
If anyone wants to hear the songs, please post here! I'll link you to the group that you can join and (if anyone is interested) I'll post the songs there.

I made a new song, guys! It's not on Newgrounds though.
If you want to hear this new song (which is an upbeat, dance-style song), message me here! I'll send you a link to the song.
The song's name is Awaken the Air. If demanded, I may post it on here.
Have a great Friday!

I'll just say I have no clue how to collab with anyone. The best idea I have is to take a partially completed song that someone wrote and add stuff, like a solo and harmony. Aside from that, I have no clue.
On another note, I do know how to remix. I don't know when I'll do my next one though. It may be a while. However, anyone is open to use or remix my stuff. I'd be all for that, haha.
Let's see if I can make any more songs this year, haha.

I've been sick and a half the past few days, so forgive my inactivity... and prepare for more.
I'm pretty freaking burned out on music making after my Traveler's Journey thing. Remind me never to tackle a 4 part series in a matter of 3 or 4 days again. Therefore, because I'm so burned out, I'll step back for a while. I'll keep lurking around awesome composers like drew6464 and RetromanOMG, and always feel free to message me!

First and foremost, I made a contest. http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/12 22982 Please participate or comment on the post.
Anyway, I'm starting my own (kinda my own at least) song series (again). Of course, I've made 2 versions of "Passion Modified" and 3 versions of "Quick Descent," but not like that. More like RetromanOMG's Revenant series and Monsters series. Of course, "Walk and Seek" and "Seek and Find" are related both in name and style, so I'll have at least one more song for that (probably named Find and [something]).
The series I'm starting just now is going to be based on my new song, "A Traveler's Journey." I've already mostly finished "A Traveler's Journey Pt. 2," so be watching for that. I plan on having this series soon collide with one of Retroman's series', and Pt. 2 makes it fairly clear which that is. I figure this will more than make up for the remixes he's made for me, haha.
Also, please leave comments here, and check out Dj XeMeX if you haven't already! He's just created a Facebook page, so check out his NG page for a link.

I made my name with a purpose. Much like CHR1ST14N D33J4Y, my name had some sort of Christian link (though not as obvious). I figure I may as well explain what OpenLight actually meant when I made this account over a year ago.
Of course, if you are a Christian or know a Christian, you know one of the things Christians want to be is a "light" in their community. (If you haven't heard that, you may have heard the song This Little Light of Mine.) I wanted my name to mean something, so I knew "Light" had to be part of it.
As a nondenominational Christian, essentially what I believe is that the Bible should be followed and not skewed to fit someone's particular desires. Also, I think that the Christian church should be left open for anyone who wants to be a part. Since it says in the Bible to spread the word and "good news of Jesus" (as it is commonly called), I wanted to include "Open" as well. So, since LightOpen seemed awkward, OpenLight became my name.
Of course, this account was not created for the sole purpose of ministry (as you can tell because this is the first time I've even mentioned my faith), but I wanted the name to have meaning in case anyone were to ever ask me.
I'd like my music to be heard and enjoyed, but not as a means to make me popular or make my name known. If I ever got talented enough to rise up in popularity, my goal would be to give the credit to Jesus for both blessing me with a background in music (I've played violin since I was 9 and piano (not with lessons, so I'm not that good haha) since I was a bit younger) and for giving me the ability to become popular so that I could make Him popular.
That's OpenLight.

Ok here you guys go! Merry Christmas!
Solo Contest Results:
1. SC: New Amp

8. FS Epic Solo
Congratulations everyone!
My judgement was not entirely based on skill of composition or other musical ability, but rather originality coupled with talent. The top spots were given to those who either changed it up somewhere in the 3 minute or less time frame or just blew me away with their melodies. I disregarded instrument choice, though some of the instruments were not to my liking, and tried to focus on the solos themselves and how they both fit with the songs and kept me interested.
Well, there you go!
