This is great

I love your orchestral stuff. And your music box stuff. Aaaand you just mixed them. So this is obviously amazing.

Things get crazy around 1:04. Everything before that was awesome, but after this point everything got just a little bit more awesome.

People will anticipate this to be completely fast paced, so if this gets rated badly, that's the only reason. This is awesome in absolutely every way.

It may seem like I'm not writing as I go, but I am. I've heard so many amazing parts that I know I wouldn't be able to fit them all in this review. This is a song that would fit perfectly in the credits of a great movie.

I'll just cut this review short and listen to the rest of the song without typing. This is seriously fantastic.

RetromanOMG responds:

Whamtastic! Thanks for the review.

I decided to take a momentary hiatus

I've been rating your songs in the background but I decided to wait to listen to one of your songs after you had already made a few.

Your stuff is definitely getting a lot better. You've gotten much, much better. You have a definite sound to your music. In fact, I'm sure I'd be able to tell if a song was yours with my eyes closed.

I can't really say anything wrong with this because places where I think "well this could be better" are places where your style starts to shine like 2 seconds after.

Of course, more solos would be nice hahaha. Honestly though, even without solos (which I obviously love), this song is great. Keep it up!

PainasaurusRex responds:

I was starting worry that you were just ignoring me :P thank you once again for reviewing one of my songs. Always great to hear from you haha. And the only problem with solos in this song is that they wouldn't really fit with the glitchcore style. It's also nice to know that someone can tell my music is my music, haha. Anyway, thank you for your continued support (: as with all good things in life there will be benefits to your continued support, that being that I will continue to rate and review your stuff as I've been doing for a while know haha.

Sincerely,
Prex

OHHHHHHHH!

I'm so incredibly glad to hear something by you again. You have a unique sound, and I'll admit that I've tried to play Paradox on my bass many times.

This song is great. I'd suggest maybe adding some treble to the mixing, but not much at all. I still think this is a 10/10.

Birdinator99 responds:

Aha, mixing -- my greatest weakness! Maybe next time, eh?

That riff from Paradox uses the same blues scale in two different keys I think. Like that helps at all :p

Thanks for your continued support!

I love this!

I think it's a little bit quiet but other than that this song is fantastic. Wooo!

RetromanOMG responds:

Yeah, I was sure there was a volume issue. I personally don't like my music too loud, but I feel like I overcompressed it this time. I will have to go back and fix that up.

Awesome song!

I really like this song. Keep it up!

Wooo!

I'm looking forward to the full version!

Nice job!

I decided to review this by request from a friend, but I actually stuck around to listen to the song because it is honestly very good.

You are very passionate. Your mixing sounds fantastic and your synths are amazing. Very good!

Haha wow

I remember when Spaceship Ride still had a bad rating. Now your stuff is getting a LOT more attention, haha. Finally.

This song is great. Though you're technically in the running for something I really want (a spot in BBT haha) I honestly hope they consider your stuff. Keep it up!

EricFreeman responds:

lmao, yeah, back in the day before I was super famous :P lol jk I only have eight people who marked me as their "favorite artist" on here. However, I'm the #8 dance/electronica musician in the Salt Lake City area according to ReverbNation: http://www.reverbnation.com/ericfreem an

And bro, it would be awesome if we both got in BBT :)

Very nice

The effects are awesome and the song is very well done.

The only thing I can suggest is work with the mixing a bunch. Change the kick to something heavier too to test it out. I think it'd sound better. Make sure the drums are quieter than the synth at all times but also make sure every instrument is heard. Of course, keep melody over harmony, but also keep melody over drums and harmony even with the drums.

That being said, if this were mixed differently then it may be a lot better. Good job overall!

PainasaurusRex responds:

"Of course, keep melody over harmony, but also keep melody over drums and harmony even with the drums"

That sentence made me make a double take, then I lol'd cause it was confusing, then i got it. Thanks for the review, I'll definitely fix it up a bit, I'm still new to the equalizing and stuff.

You have talent, sir.

Sorry about the name thing. I hate when that happens though, haha. Of course, the whole "a rose by any other name" thing applies here.

I wouldn't say this is my favorite of YOUR songs here, but anything you throw out is catchy and original. I really wish I had half of your composing abilities.
