Not bad, Numi! There's not too much I can say about this. Always been a fan haha.

Awesome!

I've already kinda reviewed this to you but I figured I ought to type out a review here. This is one of my favorite remixes I've heard of one of my songs. It's very unique when compared to the others I've heard.

I really can't say anything negative about this. Great job!

RetromanOMG responds:

Haha, I was afraid the Dubstep aspects of this song would turn you away, but you liked it regardless! Thanks!

I really like what you're doing here!

I'd say if you chop up the vocals or glitch them at points and focus more on the synth melody, this song would be freaking amazing. I'd listen to it every day lol.

This is really great though and I can't wait to see what you do with it!

Oh don't think I've forgotten about your music.

Ok so I forgot for a little bit, but only because I was reaaaaally busy. BUT it's time to review, so get ready because I'm doing a play-by-play.

0:40 - This song is really suspenseful so far. I really like the way it builds.

1:00 - THANK YOU for not going for a dubstep drop after that build up. What you did was perfect in my opinion.

1:50 - A nice break from percussion and a sweet melody, I'm definitely favoriting this track.

2:32 - This song does not disappoint. Your mixing is very good and the synth choices go together very well. You've made nice use of those wind effects too.

Ok I've hit the end of the song pretty much. This flows together very nicely, great job!

My only complaint would be that the areas around 1:00 sound like they're missing something, though I'm not sure what.

Overall though, this is a great track.

Nice to see you're still making music!

This was always a good track, and I love Super Smash Bros. so much, so I can't really complain. The eq seems a bit treble-heavy at points but it may just be my headphones.

Not bad!

Numi responds:

Mm. I haven't heard from you in ages haha. I'll be sure to check out your recent tunes real soon! EQ'ing this was a nightmare. It really was. I've never used so many separate instruments and effects in one song. I know this isn't great, but I'm honestly amazed it even came out like this. I expected it come come out MUCH worse.

This sounds like something I would've made a while back. Your mixing could use a bit of work, but not much at all.

Seriously, I'll be watching for new tracks from you. This is amazing.

steampianist responds:

its really old dude hehe thanks for watching btw

Very chaotic, not bad.

I think this would sound better if the melody was mixed higher than the other synths, though this should be accomplished by turning down the other synths probably because this song is incredibly loud (though that's not all that bad for dubstep tracks).

Other than that, nice job!

Bones341 responds:

Thanks for your feedback. After having listened back to this a few times, I've actually come to the conclusion that the mix is terrible! So I feel it might be worth stripping it back and start all over again.

I've just acquired a copy of The Mixing Engineer's Handbook to help me... My mixing skills are horrible, I've only been producing for 8 months so I really need to do some homework before I submit any more tracks... This one will be updated once I'me finished

Cheers! :)

Though the mixing and synth choices are not ideal, there is a melody to this. I'd say if you worked on the mixing a lot with this song and changed the synths, this could be a very nice track. You'd need to add some harmony of course as well.

Precisely with the mixing, you'd want to make sure there wasn't complete silence in between notes unless you're trying to grab the listener's attention for something upcoming, and even then that technique should be used rarely. You'd also want to make sure the track has a good balance of bass, mid, and treble, though you may choose to slightly favor one to give the song the right feeling.

Other than all that, this track shows potential!

Blazirc responds:

I'll work on it, thank you for your constructive criticism!

It seems to be a bit chaotic with the mixing, but definitely a more powerful song. I'm amazed that this is your first track.

If I could suggest anything, it'd be to isolate the melody a bit more from the harmony, but even at that you may have intended just the opposite, and I can't argue with an artist's intentions.

Good choice of synth, good pretty much everything. Nice!

Septyrikon responds:

Thanks a bunch! This might be the first track that I've oploaded here, but it's by no means the first song I've ever done :) I've been doing music for quite a while, so I suppose I have some sort experience making music. I've never really posted anything online before, so I'm honestly surprised with the positivity this has gotten so far :D
