OpenLight's News

After listening over Epilog Nth some more, I found a couple of issues with the mixing. Given that, I decided it would be best to make the necessary change as soon as possible.

Hey everyone.

Just letting you al know that the upload I just made was just a backup of an old project I was working on. This is not a sign of the kind of music I will be uploading in the near future, and it's nothing I've been working on even remotely recently. I believe this was a 2014 project, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm really looking forward to creating and uploading some new music soon! As for now, feel free to check out this project that will remain unfinished.

Hello everyone!

Believe it or not, I haven't stopped making music. For the past bit, I've been trying to find and obtain resources that I can use to improve my music dramatically. Up until now, most of what I've been using has been free or cheap, but today, I made my first major purchase. Soon, I hope to buy a PC that can adequately handle everything I'm needing it to, as well as an upgrade to my current DAW.

The bad news I guess is the fact that I haven't been able to make a track for upload yet. Despite the fact that it is almost August and I haven't made a single upload this year, I'm still holding out for these major purchases to be complete before I start work on a major track.

By the end of 2016, I am hoping to have completed something new and exciting to share here. I'm also hoping to branch out and possibly upload more of my music to BandCamp or other websites in addition to here on Newgrounds.

Regardless, I really want to remain connected with everyone who has supported me on here. There are a lot of people, whether fans or friends, that have given me the confidence necessary to move forward and become the best music creator I can be. I can't wait to get started on new projects that I can share on here with all of you!

I keep up with this page, despite my apparent inactivity, so while I may not upload a song for a little while, feel free to send a message or chat on this post if you want.

See you all soon!

I finally made a new song! That last song was good, but I feel much better about Apex. Please check it out and leave a review if you get the opportunity!

At the time of me writing this post, my track "Fireball" is about to pass 60,000 downloads.

I'm very grateful to all of you who have shown your support over the years, I and certainly hope I can keep on improving and making better tracks for you all.

To clarify something, while Falling Star was not in the same style that I usually do, its main purpose was to help me learn more mixing techniques. I feel I learned a lot through making that track, but don't worry if it wasn't your cup of tea.

As for what's coming up, I have some older-style projects in the works, but I'm looking into making a major synth purchase in the near future. I'm considering Sylenth, though I'd like your feedback on this. Should I invest in Sylenth soon, or should I look into something else?

Finally, I finished a new track! I apologize for not putting out much in 2014. I'm hoping to be more efficient in this new year. So to begin, here is "Falling Star":

Hey guys!

If you've been a fan of mine for a while, you're probably pretty disappointed with how 2014 has been so far. I apologize if this is the case.

BUT now there's this:

Go check that song out! It's called "Unending Horizon," and I believe if you like my music as a whole, you should like this track. Let me know here or in the reviews section on the track what you think!

What's the general opinion of Sylenth 1 for professional-level music? I get that it's really awesome, and I love the demo so far, but I'm wondering if it's worth the $200.

By the way, if anyone's interested, I am making a song using the demo, but I will not post it here for obvious reasons (namely, you all probably don't want to hear "Thank you for using this demo!" 20 times during a song). I may post a SoundCloud link at a later date if there is interest in that though.
